WHAT IS IT?
Copaiba (pronounced coh-pah-ee-buh) is probably one of those oils you know nothing about yet, let's be honest. I'll be honest, too, after studying this oil in depth for this class, there were lots I didn't know, either!
Copaiba is a resin that comes from the trunks of Copaifera trees, which are grown in places like North America, South America, and also tropical Africa. Copaiba resins have been extracted and used by people dating back to the 16th century. Numerous studies have been done on the resin and oil in the 21st century that reveal many compounds and constituents in Copaiba that support the human body. It includes the naturally occurring constituents beta-caryophyllene and alpha-humulene - and if that sounds like gibberish to you, look it up on your own time and see what those constituents can do for you and your health! It is also believed by many to work as a magnifier alongside other essential oils, meaning if you want support for something, adding Copaiba to your oil regimen can help it happen quicker, stronger, and more efficiently. Young Living has access to these amazing Copaifera trees that exude this resin, and thanks to Young Living's Seed to Seal process, we can take the Vitality version of this essential oil internally to help our body remain at its best. Copaiba can also be found in other awesome Young Living products such as Deep Relief, Stress Away, Breathe Again, and Copaiba Vanilla Shampoo & Conditioner.
WHAT'S IT GOOD FOR?
There's always going to be more than one or two uses that a single essential oil is good for - same goes with Copaiba. From helping your muscles and joints to feel their best, to helping your immune system stay top notch, it's no wonder Young Living chose this powerful essential oil to be a part of the Premium Starter Kit. Here is a short list of some of the things Copaiba can do for you:
-Supports the respiratory system
-Supports the lymphatic system
-Supports healthy skin
-Can help ease any physical changes associated with exercise or aging
-Eases head tension
-Supports healthy muscles
-Supports healthy bones
-Supports healthy cartilage function
-Supports immune health and overall wellness
-May help babies get through the teething process
...and the list goes on and on!
HOW DO I USE IT?
In the Premium Starter Kit, you'll receive Copaiba Vitality Essential Oil, and since that one is a supplement, you can take it internally. However, Young Living also has Copaiba Essential Oil, labeled for topical use and aromatic use. How you use this oil to support your body is completely a personal preference. But for my little family, Copaiba is another one that has surprised us so much, that we can't be without it.
We use Copaiba topically by rubbing it on the area that needs support. You could use Copaiba Vitality by putting drops of it in an empty vegetable capsule and taking it internally as needed.
I also love using Copaiba Vitality as a part of my wellness regimen. I like adding two drops of it in my Ningxia Red and drinking it every day. I've also heard it's amazing for teething babies.
If you are new to Copaiba Vitality, and it came in your starter kit, add it to a capsule, or some soy milk, or food. Even mix a drop or two with some honey and hot water and make a tea with it.
